They are rapidly regaining their popularity now, as females and tough guys are receiving anchors and similar designs more and more.

Lower back tattoos are the most common for women. The lower-back area is one of the most fleshly (and hence least painful, in terms of tattooing) on the female body, making it the ideal spot for a tattoo. Tribal designs are the most popular in this area, with additional symbols making for great tattoos as well. The lower area of the back offers plenty of natural shape as well, which can make for an interesting tattoo. A lot of the time, women will tend to include areas that cover the base of their hips as well.

Dragon designs are a different popular type class of tattoos. They were popular in the past, and are now beginning to get their popularity back. There are a lot of special dragons to choose from, including the fairy-tale dragon and ancient Chinese dragon. Dragons are great on the upper body for men and the back for girs. Dragon tattoos can be any size, although most males tend to have them positioned over one side of trunk or the greater area of their arms.

Celtic tattoos are also still popular. They are mostly seen with people who have a Celtic ethnicity, although some with no Celtic heritage have them as well. They dispaly a variety of symbols and designs, with universal meanings for everybody. Often times they are combined with tribal tattoos make an even more impressive display.
